Is it nearly Christmas yet? Well, in sewing terms, YES, it is!
With the brand new range of Scandi Christmas 2017 fabrics just in from Makower UK, I’ve already had the sewing machine threaded up and am delighted with this Christmas quilt!
The pattern was sketched out over dinner at Mum’s house a few Friday nights ago, the quilt top which you see below was completed by Monday and I absolutely loved every minute of sewing this one up!
As a fabric shop owner and a quilter, I write my patterns with the standard size of a metric Fat Quarter in mind so that there is a minimal amount of fabric left over!
Hope you like!

FREE Christmas Pattern – Part One:
You will need 12 different metric Fat Quarters – I used 5 red and 7 grey
Cut the FQs into 4″ squares. You will get 20 squares per FQ – left over squares can be used to piece part of the quilt backing
Sew squares together following colour placement as shown in photo
I am currently adding borders, backing and binding – I will post Part Two of the pattern and the quilt’s final size as soon as I get it finished!
